Gunselman's Tavern

Our first stop on our trip to Cleveland and Gunselman’s did not disappoint! There is seating outside and inside. Outside seating is under umbrellas at each table. Inside has some pretty cool decor. The waitress was very nice and explained to us the menu. We ordered the poutine fries with shredded steak for an appetizer, the California burger and a pierogi burger for our meals. The poutines fries were absolutely delicious! The gravy was thick and flavorful. My husband enjoyed his California burger. The avocado on top was cut perfect as it was not too thick or too thin. His side was the Brussels sprouts and they had robust flavor and were cooked to perfection! The pierogi burger was extremely unique in kind but sooo tasty! The pierogis were giant as they were the “bun” and they were stuffed with potato and cheese goodness! Needless to say, everything here was outstanding! All the food that we ordered was prepared fresh and the service was top notch!

Enjoyed popping by to have Sunday brunch during a cold snow event. Do not miss the mini pancakes ( they are legit mini - talking size if 50cent piece max ) here! Even as just a table add on to just sample one or two along with your savory breakfast. Incredibly delicious. Hangover burger and burrito bowl were enjoyed in our party too . Along with the great service.

Great spot. Great vibe. Went around lunchtime on a Saturday to watch OSU. Sat ourselves. Great old school feel inside. Our waitress was very nice. Food was great. Fries came with a cheese cup (nice surprise!). Parking lot attached. Seating available outside. Busy spot! If looking for a great bar with great food and people, and this is it.

Amazing food, I got the pierogi melt!! Quick service & great local beers!

According to local lore, Gunselman’s is a Cleveland westside staple so I had to try it. The atmosphere is great, it’s an old school neighborhood bar on the corner. The staff and clientele are all warm and welcoming. There’s a bar side and restaurant side. Expect a wait if you stop by a peak hours. If you love some good ol bar food and beer this is the place for you.

Stopped in around 3 for lunch, and it had a good energy without being too busy. The soft pretzel was warm, with tangy mustard and creamy beer cheese. The scallions and shredded cheese on top were a nice extra touch. I had my first Philly cheesesteak and loved it. It was cooked just right and full of flavor. We also got the chicken paprikash over pierogies, which was comforting and came out hot. The blueberry lemonade cocktail was tasty, just a little sweet for me. I added soda water and lime, and it balanced out perfectly. Our server was kind and checked in at the right times. I’d definitely come back.

Fiancé got the beast burger, which he loved, and I got the mushrooms burger. I figured there would be a little more emphasis on burgers with the award winning burgers being advertised so much here and was surprised to see there weren't too many. It was nice to see the prices weren't crazy. It is a bar, but during the time we were there, it wasn't too loud or crazy, though there were sports on the TV, including the Kentucky Derby. Although the burger I had was good, I was not overly impressed with it and would not find myself going back to this establishment specifically for their food.

Gunselman's is a great cozy neighborhood restaurant. I went here on a Sunday not knowing that the full menu was not available. That was not a problem. This restaurant serves a wide variety of breakfast/brunch options. They do have an extensive dinner menu from burgers, fish, ethnic cuisine and daily specials. I went with the egg pierogi and sausage breakfast. What an amazing dish this was, and the portions were huge. For me the pierogi's were done to perfection, and to my surprise there were three sausage patties. I will definitely have to come back here for dinner. The beer selection is okay.
